Interview: Jesse Cramer, The Best Interest – Leave good impressions!

Introduction

For this FIRE interview I speak to Jesse Cramer from The Best Interest blog and I was recommend speaking to Jesse from our last live event speaker Aaron from Managing FI.

When I found out that Jesse had got 30 FI (financial Independence) experts together to write one single book and would make for a valuable future event speaker I asked for an introduction.

Naturally Jesse and me got talking at the end of 2021 and I am delighted to announce that Jesse is confirmed as one of four live FIRE speakers at the upcoming April 2nd 2022 event as will be presenting on

“7 Fantastic Facts to Improve Investor Psychology”.

The FIRE movement does not know any limits or boundaries and is fantastic to have more international speakers again bringing the FIRE message to Ireland, UK  and Europe.

I asked Jesse for a short to the point interview as a teaser and for some more background, enjoy:

Who are you, and how did you discover fire?

My name is Jesse Cramer. I live in Rochester, NY, USA with my fiancée, Kelly, and our dog, Sadie.

I founded The Best Interest in 2018 and work as a Relationship Manager for Cobblestone Capital Advisors.

I discovered FIRE around ~2014, and I don’t even remember how!

But I consumed as many blogs, books, and podcasts as I could find.

What is/was the backbone of your fire strategy?

– Spending as much money as I want to (which isn’t a ton)

– Putting the rest to work in the stock market

What do you plan to do once you reach Financial Independence (FI)?

I love my current job, so right now my answer is: I’ll continue working.

But I recognize how quickly life can change, so I could see myself spending more time hiking and camping in the woods, catching up on my reading list, basking in the sun, etc.

What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

Talk to more people

Develop more relationships.

Leave good impressions everywhere you go.

Because it all comes back around!
